Accessibility
Accessibility statement.
We want WIGO Trips to be readable and usable by as many people as possible, including readers using assistive technology.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing requirement, not a one-time audit.
What this means in practice
- Semantic HTML structure with one main landmark per page.
- Sufficient colour contrast against our warm neutral palette.
- Descriptive alternative text on editorial images.
- Keyboard navigable menus, forms, and interactive elements.
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive components.
- Forms with labelled inputs and explicit error messaging.
Known issues
Embedded third-party maps and video players sometimes carry their own accessibility limitations that we cannot fully control. Where this affects an article, we try to provide an alternative description in the text.
