What is WIGO Trips?

+

WIGO Trips is an independent editorial travel magazine. We publish long-form articles about unusual destinations, forgotten places, and hidden cultural landmarks for readers who want to know what is around the next corner.

What does WIGO stand for?

+

Wild & Intelligent Global Odyssey. It is a description of how we travel and what we try to share with readers.

Is WIGO a travel agency?

+

No. We do not sell trips. We are a publisher. We provide editorial articles, guides, and inspiration. You plan and book your own travel.

Are the places you write about safe to visit?

+

Most are ordinary destinations seen from a less ordinary angle. We try to flag any specific safety concerns in the articles themselves. Always check your government's travel advisory before you go.

Do you accept payment for coverage?

+

No. Our editorial archive is not for sale. If we ever run sponsored content, it is clearly labelled and kept separate from the editorial archive.

How are articles fact-checked?

+

Every article is checked against at least two independent sources. Where possible, a local correspondent or reader reviews it before publication.

I think you got something wrong. What now?

+

Please write to us. Reader corrections are one of the most valuable things we receive, and we visibly publish corrections when they apply.

Can I pitch an article?

+

Yes. Use the contact page. Include a short outline, a sample paragraph, and what makes the place worth covering.

Do you pay contributors?

+

Yes, modest editorial rates depending on length and research. Details are shared once a pitch is accepted.

How often do you publish?

+

New articles appear on a rolling basis. Subscribers get a digest roughly every two weeks.

Do you sell my email address?

+

No. The newsletter list is never shared, sold, or rented. You can unsubscribe with one click.

How do you choose images?

+

Most are taken by our correspondents. We avoid stock imagery where we can. Every image on an article should be specific to that piece.

Why no luxury or backpacking content?

+

Those niches are well covered elsewhere. We focus on the wide middle ground that most travel media ignores.

Do you cover places outside Europe?

+

Yes. Our editorial network spans several regions, and we publish from wherever we can do the place justice.

What are your editorial standards?

+

See our Editorial Policy page for the full document, including sourcing, corrections, and disclosure rules.

Can I republish a WIGO article?

+

Generally no, but short excerpts with proper credit and a link back are fine. For full republication, please ask first.

Do you have a print edition?

+

Not yet. We are exploring a small print annual.

How can I support WIGO?

+

Read carefully, share thoughtfully, subscribe to the newsletter, and tell us when we are wrong.

Do you offer advertising?

+

Limited sponsorship slots in the newsletter, all clearly labelled. Contact us if you are interested.

Is WIGO accredited press?

+

We operate as a legitimate publishing entity in the United States. Press credentials are issued on a per-assignment basis.
